Recipient hasn't received the gift card
We have added an interface in the admin area of the app to allow store owners to quickly check the status of purchases.
- Log in to your Shopify Admin area and navigate to Apps > Go Gift Cards > Issued Gift Cards.
Here you can click "View mail events" to check if an email has failed. Usually, this is can be for a few reasons; a spelling error in the email address, the email blocking certain incoming mail, or unsubscribing from certain emails.
A failed delivery can mean a number of things, generally emails may sometimes fail at first due to what's called ESP throttling. This occurs whenever the recipient's email provider has received a large number of emails from a specific IP/sender in a short period of time. Due to this, they will not accept messages for a certain period of time (usually an hour; sometimes a day) until they have processed all the emails from the original batch sent. ESP throttling is a common occurrence in the email world and nothing to be too concerned about.
On rare occasions you may see a failed delivery which is a hard bounce, this can sometimes mean the email address is incorrect and we provide a way to amend the email and resend from our app.
